1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the livestock which were with him in the ship, and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided, 2 and the fountains of the deep and the channels of the heavens were closed, and the shower was restrained from the heavens. 3 And the waters turned back from off the earth, going on and turning back. And the waters were decreased at the end of 150 days. 4 And the ship rested, in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat. 5 And the waters were going and decreasing until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first of the month, the heads of the mountains appeared.
6 And it came to pass, at the end of 40 days, that Noah opened the window of the ship which he had made, 7 and he sent out a raven, and it went out, going out and turning back until the drying of the waters from off the earth. 8 And he sent out a dove from him to see whether the waters had lowered from off the face of the ground. 9 And the dove did not find rest for the sole of her foot, and she turned back to him, to the ship, for waters were on the face of all the earth, and he put out his hand, and took her, and brought her in to him, into the ship. 10 And he waited yet seven more days, and continued on to send out the dove from the ship. 11 And the dove came to him toward evening time, and look, an olive leaf was torn off in her mouth. And Noah knew that the waters had lowered from off the earth. 12 And he waited yet seven more days, and sent out the dove, and it did not continue to return to him again. 13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, on the first of the month, the waters had dried from off the earth. And Noah turned aside the covering of the ship, and looked, and look, the face of the ground had dried. 14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth had become dry. 15 And God spoke to Noah, saying, 16 “Go out from the ship, you, and your wife, and your sons, and your sons’ wives with you. 17 Every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, among bird, and among livestock, and among every crawling thing which crawls on the earth, bring out with you. And they will abound on the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply on the earth.” 18 And Noah went out, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him. 19 Every beast, every crawling thing, and every bird, every crawling thing on the earth, after their families, went out from the ship. 20 And Noah built an altar to YHWH, and took from every clean beast and from every clean bird, and sent up burnt-offerings on the altar. 21 And YHWH smelled the refreshing fragrance, and YHWH said to His heart, “I will not continue to disfavor the ground because of man anymore, though the intent of the heart of man is evil from his youth. And I will not continue to strike all living anymore, as I have done. 22 During all the days of the earth, seed-time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night will never cease.”
