Genesis 7

1 And YHWH said to Noah, “Come, you and all your house, into the ship, for I have seen you are righteous before Me in this generation. 2 Take seven pairs from all the clean beasts for yourself, a male and its female. And of the beasts which are not clean—two, a male and its female. 3 Also, seven pairs from each bird of the heavens, a male and a female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth. 4 For after seven more days I will send rain on the earth 40 days and 40 nights, and will wipe away everything standing that I have made from off the face of the ground.” 5 And Noah did according to all that YHWH had commanded him.

6 And Noah was 600 years old, when the flood of waters was on the earth. 7 And Noah went—and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him—into the ship, from the face of the waters of the flood. 8 From the clean beast, and from the beast that is not clean, and from the bird, and of everything that crawls on the ground, 9 they had come to Noah two by two into the ship, a male and a female, as God had commanded Noah. 10 And it came to pass, after seven days, that waters of the flood were on the earth. 11 In the six hundredth year of the life of Noah, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on this day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the channels of the heavens were opened, 12 and the shower was on the earth 40 days and 40 nights. 13 On this very same day Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, went into the ship— 14 they, and every living creature according to its kind, and every beast according to its kind, and every crawling thing that was crawling on the earth according to its kind, and every flying thing according to its kind, every bird, everything with wings. 15 And they came to Noah, into the ship, two by two of all the flesh in which was a living breath. 16 And they that were coming in, male and female of all flesh, came in as God had commanded him, and YHWH closed the ship for him. 17 And the flood was on the earth 40 days, and the waters multiplied and lifted up the ship, and it was raised up from off the earth. 18 And the waters were mighty and multiplied exceedingly on the earth. And the ship went on the face of the waters. 19 And the waters were very, very mighty on the earth, and all the high mountains were covered which were under the whole heavens. 20 The waters prevailed from above the mountains, and covered them fifteen cubits. 21 And all flesh breathed their last that was moving on the earth, among bird, and among livestock, and among beast, and among every teeming thing which was teeming on the earth, and all mankind. 22 All in whose nostrils was breath of a living spirit—of all that was in the dry land—died. 23 And everything standing that was on the face of the ground was wiped away—from man to beast, to crawling thing, and to bird of the heavens. Indeed, they were wiped away from the earth, and only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ship. 24 And the waters were mighty on the earth 150 days.
